After 28 years painting and decorating in Staffordshire and all around the UK, working on every type of building and using traditional, modern and designer materials from countless mainstream and niche suppliers, I am confident to call myself a specialist general painter and decorator. Removing fixtures & fittings; protecting your floors and your property; full preparation work.

We always use the best trade quality kit, including the unique Festool dust extraction sanding system which minimizes sanding dust. The result is less mess and a cleaner environment for both you and me. I always clean up after myself too! Our paintwork is super smooth and all wallpapering is completed as nature intended - perfect matches and sharp cuts.
Services
We specialize in hanging high quality wall coverings and have been commissioned to hang papers by Zoffany, Osbourne & Little, Degournay, Brian Yates, Cole & son, Harlequin, Farrow & Ball, Sanderson, Laura Ashley to name but a few.
I am an approved member of the Wallpaper Hangers Guild too, a prestigious group of the UK's most trusted paperhangers.
In addition to installing new Lincrusta, I have also been trained to use the Lincrusta restoration kits.
This new product enables damaged and discontinued patterns to be repaired and replaced.
Within reason any oak or pine or laminate kitchen can be completely transformed with a hand-painted finish for a fraction of the cost of new.
As long as preparation is thorough, and the appropriate primers and topcoats are used, a new hand-painted finish will last many years.
I have been decorating for 28 years and have been trained the traditional way, and so it comes naturally to me to do the very best work on every job I tackle.
It is this work ethic, and attention to detail that sets specialists apart from general painters and decorators, and why I am one of the few decorators who has been invited to join the Traditional Painter network.
A little bit About Martin Dunn, who has over 28 years experience within the painting and decorating trade, and has also worked as a decorating lecturer at colleges in the Midlands.
I entered the world of decorating in 1985, and my apprenticeship was spent learning all aspects of the trade under the guidance of master craftsmen at a local company.
During this time I obtained both the craft and Advanced Craft City & Guilds in Painting & Decorating - with distinction, whilst attending Walsall Art college on day release.
From the first phone call or email, I will make sure all your questions are answered.
I can provide a lot of information from photos, but will always come to visit you to clarify every detail.
From there, I will be able to produce a full detailed written quotation which will enable you to see exactly what I will be doing in your home or office.
There are no catches, I quote for a complete job.
Kitchen painting - here I am refurbishing a tired wooden kitchen with a hand panted finish.
Every square inch was thoroughly degreased, before the kitchen units were masked up, worktops and floors protected ahead of priming and finishing coats.
Painted furniture - oak furniture can be given a new lease of life with a mix of thorough preparation and specially formulated primers and top coats.
Painting staircases by hand is an option, but on larger staircases spraying works well.
After a lot of careful masking, I apply the same principles to painting any problem surface - preparation plus high adhesion primers to provide a perfect base for durable satin, eggshell or gloss finishes.
