We are a Painting & Decorating company in Cumbria and based in Workington, we are a local family who have provided painting and decorating services throughout West Cumbria since 1968. I am Sean Wilkinson and I own and operate V. Wilkinson and Son Ltd, we are a small family business offering quality professional painting and decorating to a wide variety of customers throughout the local area.
The business was originally established in 1968 by my father Victor Wilkinson. In recent years, I have working along side me a small dedicated team of Painters and Decorators, along with one or two apprentices. We all pride ourselves on amassing customer expectations consistently and with a wealth of experience and expertise, there is no job that can't be tackled.
So when your looking for a painter and decorator, we are the name you can rely on. Our small team includes experienced trades people, that are professional and highly skilled in all aspects of the trade. All either hold a City and Guilds certificate or more recently working towards NVQ's in Painting and Decorating.

Founded in 1968, V. Wilkinson & Son is a family run Painters and Decorators, priding themselves on their quality and professionalism.
With many years of experience, there is no project which can't be tackled by our small dedicated team.
In 1996, V. Wilkinson & Son were vetted to become members of the "Dulux Select Trade Scheme", with Sean joining the panel of the Select Decorating Scheme in 1997, retiring two years later due to family commitments.
We have now been members of the scheme for over 10 years in 2009, we were West Cumbria's longest serving members of the Dulux Select Trade scheme, achievements of which we are justifiably proud and we were awarded Fellowship Status the same year and Sean was invited back onto the panel.

With a loan from his brother to buy tools and equipment, he started building his business, with his wife Edith doing the paperwork and looking after their young son Sean.
Things were tough, and with no telephone, calls had to be taken by a family friend and then passed on to Victor and Edith each evening.
Victor worked hard, building his reputation for quality and professional service, values which are held highly even today, and in some cases we are providing a service to the third generation of the same family that Victor first worked for in 1968.
