Founded in 1921, by Frank Wells; F & C D Wells Ltd began as a domestic painting and decorating company which employed four decorators and used a hand cart.
Following this, he a motorbike and side car for transport before he was joined by his son, Charles David Wells, in 1952, and the company began to grow.
Frank retired in 1966 and David, as he was better known, took over the company from his father.
