The Government are now encouraging people to stay in, only leaving home for specific purposes including work "where you cannot work from home (including if your job involves working in other people's homes)". So for now I am available and keen to work, and am trying to work within the Government's latest guidelines for tradespeople, a summary of which can be found here.

There's further really helpful and useful information here. My name's Robin (or Rob - I'm fine with either!), and I'm a painter, decorator and handyman based in Emmbrook (near Wokingham) in Berkshire. I spent 20 years in an office job, before starting my own business in 2007. In the early years I took on all sorts of handyman work, from building sheds and patios to fitting whole new bathrooms.

I soon learned however that the thing I enjoyed most - and was best at - was giving rooms a "makeover". It gives me a huge buzz to give a room a new lease of life, whether it's just a fresh lick of paint or a complete transformation; after a few days work I can see the difference I have made, and the pleasure this can bring to my customers.

Although it's not guaranteed to be kept 100% up to date, you can find an indication of when my next available time is at the top of the home page.
The reason is simply financial.
What a lot of people don't realise is that most of the so-called "trusted recommendation" web sites are basically another form of paid advertising.
It's not at all unusual for them to charge in the region of 700 per year for your business to appear in their directory.
If I put my business in three or four of those, I'd be spending close to a month's income each year.
There's so much that can be said about colour, the way it works in different lights, the way it makes us feel.
Different colours can create different moods in different rooms.
Colours come and go, in and out of fashion.
Rather than try to write all my thoughts on the subject in one never-ending paragraph, guaranteed to send every reader to sleep, I'll add my thoughts about colours and so on to my occasional blog and add to it as and when I get time.
Once I started writing about colours and colour schemes, I just didn't know where or when to stop.
I have therefore put together this quick guide to the main types of paint that we might consider using for an interior decorating job.
As always, I would of course be more than happy to discuss this with you in more detail.
The two main areas in which emulsion paints differ from each other are the finish they provide, and the quality of the paint (which does not always correlate with its price!).
There are two factors to consider here - how wipeable/scrub-able/hard-wearing you need the paint to be (practical considerations), and how matt/shiny you like your paint to be (aesthetic considerations).
